Denon Dn Mc6000 Digital Mixer Controller

The DJ world is definitely experiencing a digital world shakeup with the advent of MP3 and digital media formats which have spawned a new era of DJ mixing software packages and software controller devices all designed to make the interaction of the DJ with their digital media a more natural and rewarding experience.

It is now possible for a DJ to have many thousands of music tracks stored on a hard disk drive, memory stick or iPod device all of which can be easily plugged into a laptop (PC or Mac) and the tracks manipulated by the DJ and Mixing Music Software (mp3 mixing software) to achieve results that far exceed the possibilities of analogue media such as vinyl records.

The concept of being able to mix a digital media track is one that has been around for some years now but the ability to have total control and be able to perform live DJ sets is one that has only recently been possible. The increased performance of the latest computer hardware PC and Mac and indeed the human interaction devices now allow conventional vinyl turntables and normal DJ CD players plus DJ mixers to be used as controller units for a new breed of DJ computer mixing software such as Traktor DJ, Virtual DJ, and M-Audio’s Torq Connectiv DJ performance/production system.

With DJ mixer software you have the ability to control the computer mixing just as you would using 2 decks/turntables and a mixer and start songs at the end of the previous one so that they are audibly seamless creating a mix between the music tracks. Furthermore, with bpm dj software you have countless extra features and abilities to perform some really clever beat mixing, beat matching and loop sample effects either during the mix of the 2 tracks or even within the song itself such as placing a sampled vocal loop into the song and thus creating some really exciting and new remixes of existing tracks.

With the latest DJ mixing software packages such as Traktor and M-Audio plus even the free DJ software packages it is now extremely easy and straightforward to use standard audio formats such as MP3 or WAV tracks and load them into the software ready for mixing. You have the added advantage with digital media tracks that you can manipulate both the tempo and pitch in a way that avoids the analogue problems of speeding up a record and the vocal pitch of a singer increasing but with digital media you can lock the pitch whilst increasing the tempo or speed of the song thus making the mixing of 2 songs together a whole lot simpler.

5Great Controller
By Adam K.
I made the switch from vinyl to digital and was looking for a high quality hybrid mixer / controller that would allow me to incorporate audio from a variety of sources into my mixes. This controller is probably the best you’re going to find. One reviewer I read called it the “swiss army knife” of controllers. I am using it with Traktor Pro 1.2.7 on channels 1 and 2 and my Technics on channels 3 and 4 and couldn’t be happier. The build quality is excellent and I’m extremely satisfied with the purchase.
